EOS Hot Sauce is a weekly digest of all the hottest topics from around the EOSIO ecosystem. The space is evolving so rapidly it can be hard to keep up! We keep on top of it so you don’t have to.

This week's spicy topics:

Zack Gall officially joins the EOS Foundation

Zack Gall is all-in EOS Network Foundation! He announced his departure from the LiquidApps team to fully commit to the mission of enabling developers, businesses, and individuals to build on EOS.

As the host of Everything EOS, he’s known as a vocal advocate for the EOS Community and we can’t wait to see him fully unleashed with the foundation behind him.

In fact the EOS Network Foundation is moving full steam ahead:

30+ Teams will be the recipients of recognition grants over the coming weeks. The formal grant process will leverage Pomelo once the platform is live.

200,000 EOS has already been transferred to Eden on EOS for the upcoming Election, and a second transaction is scheduled for October 4th.

Another 60,000 EOS was transferred to admin.grants to fund the EOS Network Foundation’s operations.

“The #ENF (EOS Network Foundation) is just getting started!” Yves La Rose

Pomelo Private Beta

Pomelo is entering private beta this week.

As we’re entering the polishing phase of development, we’ll begin inviting a small selection of EOS community members to begin testing the platform and sharing their feedback. This phase of development will be focused on ironing out any major user experience kinks before we roll out access to the wider community.

That’s when everyone will have the chance to play around in the crowdfunding platform with no money on the line. The goal is to give early grant participants a taste of the experience so they can be better prepared for the first funding round later this year.

The first round is just around the corner, so get your grant applications ready

You can learn more about that and everything else we’ve shared about Pomelo in our previous updates:

Google Cloud is getting ready

The Google Cloud Block Producer is climbing up the ranks with more than 10M EOS voting for it this week!

Following a recent stir of excitement and calls from the community to see the Google BP elected, EOS Nation was happy to update our proxy to vote for them. They also gained votes from the EOS Marketplace and GenerEOS proxies.

A poll conducted by Drill Sergeant Zeus, leader of the English EOS Bee Hive, found that the majority of the active people on EOS Reddit, EOS Facebook and EOS Telegram are in favor of voting Google into the top 21.

If you’d like to vote for Google too and agree with our vision for EOS, please consider delegating your votes to the EOS Nation Proxy.

Metaverse Gallery Panel

The latest Cryptowriter Roundtable was dedicated to Metaverse Galleries and featured artists and builders from the EOSIO NFT Space, among them Martin Breuer of .gems. It was an interesting panel about different approaches and the general potential of 3D experiences and venues for virtual events.

Speaking about VR Galleries in the Metaverse, check out the Virtual Exhibition for Heidi Taillefer’s Frogs and participate in a giveaway to win one of these biomechanical masterpieces.

Once you’ve entered the gallery, look for “the Frog” and tap him. It will open a Google form for you to leave your WAX address.

WAX OIG Report

September was another month jam-packed with WAX action for EOS Nation. We brought the first curated art marketplace to the WAX Ecosystem, along with Heidi Taillefer’s Frogs Series, the first NFT collection to get recognition in the world of fine arts. We distributed the first batch of Ocean Defenders NFTs to a brand new audience being exposed to WAX for the first time. We’ve made more of our nodeos monitoring tools publicly available to help other infrastructure providers troubleshoot their issues better. And we’ve continued to produce weekly educational content and engage our audience with weekly live events in the metaverse. Read EOS Nation’s September 2021 WAX Report for a deeper look into all the fun we had on WAX this month.

EOS Nation is a top Block Producer on the EOS public network. We earn inflation rewards based on the percentage of tokens staked towards us. Those rewards are reinvested into EOSIO community, tools, and infrastructure. Help grow the ecosystem by staking your vote to eosnationftw for BP or proxying to proxy4nation

Remember, we never accept compensation in exchange for featuring projects in the EOS Hot Sauce. That means if a project is included in the EOS Hot Sauce it’s because we believe that project brings value to the EOSIO ecosystem and we want our community to know about it!

Are you building an interesting project on EOSIO? We want to hear from you! Reach out to us on social media or email info@eosnation.io.

Heidi Taillefert presents: Vintage Valentines

The Vintage Valentine series was conceived to mimic turn of the century valentine’s day cards, reflecting an era when society pretended to hide the more salacious habits of so many people during that time. On top of the physical pieces, this collection also features digital copies, published as Vintage Valentine Card NFTs on the carbon-neutral WAX blockchain.
