September was another month jam-packed with WAX action for EOS Nation. We brought the first curated art marketplace to the WAX Ecosystem, along with Heidi Taillefer’s Frogs Series, the first NFT collection to get recognition in the world of fine arts. We distributed the first batch of Ocean Defenders NFTs to a brand new audience being exposed to WAX for the first time. We’ve made more of our nodeos monitoring tools publicly available to help other infrastructure providers troubleshoot their issues better. And we’ve continued to produce weekly educational content and engage our audience with weekly live events in the metaverse.
New nodeos monitoring tools
In order to assist in troubleshooting, EOS Nation is pleased to announced the availability of our nodeos monitoring tool blockchain.stats.eosnation.io
We have built tools to monitor the output generated by nodeos and generate statistics and alerts from it. We have been using this internally for more than 6 months. Now we are making a simplified view available for others to use. With this tool, you can see the following statistics:
- head block drift
- last irreversible block (LIB) drift
- fork rate
- schedule changes
- dropped blocks
- blocks not applied
- double production
- early blocks
- late blocks
- low transactions (compare each producer vs the average)
- missing producers
- missing blocks
- block arrival time (all 12 blocks per round)
- last block arrival time
- transactions per round
The following networks are supported:
- WAX
- WAX Testnet
- EOS
- Jungle
- Kylin
How it works: in the dashboard you will find 2 sets of charts. Those on the left side of the page monitor an individual server (use the toolbar to select from available servers). Those on the right side of the page aggregate the data from the selected servers.
Why this level of detail? Every nodeos sees the network in slightly different ways depending how the blocks and transactions arrive. Or there may be other issues like if the server has just restarted. Generally aggregating the data from several servers will give a good view at a glance. However, if something is wrong, then maybe the individual nodeos server is generating false-positive results rather than there being a network issue. Careful review of the situation is required before taking action on any identified issue.
We welcome your feedback on this tool.
Lots of NFT action
Heidi Taillefer - Frogs NFT Series
Heidi Taillefer launched her Frogs NFT series on WAX this month in partnership with our NFT publishing studio, .gems.
Early in 2021 Heidi Taillefer publicly announced that she would never create NFTs due to the implicated harm to the environment, but after communicating with the .gems team learned that sustainable NFTs are indeed possible on the WAX Blockchain. The whole story of how this collection came together makes a strong case for the WAX Blockchain and we’ve documented the process in a blog article as well as in a video interview with Heidi.
Heidi has a strong following with over 14K followers on Instagram and many of her collectors got in touch with us to learn about WAX. To make the onboarding for these new WAX users easier we’ve created a landing page that guides through the Wallet creation process.
Parallel to the NFT sale, the physical works that inspired the Frogs series will be exhibited in the Jano Lapin Gallery. The NFT series and WAX were covered in the mainstream media in a cross-promotional effort.

The Ocean Defenders
Our cooperation with the Ocean Defenders is going into the next phase. After the project was publicly announced at an event at the beginning of August, we’ve distributed Founder’s Packs to all early supporters of the projects via NFT claim links, a powerful tool that showcases once again the efficiency of WAX NFTs. We’ve created the Ocean.gems account and collection and are in the process of getting verified by AtomicHub.
While the Ocean Defenders NFT assets are in the final stages of production, we are also finalizing plans for a campaign on the Ocean Defenders Instagram Channel. The goal of the campaign is to onboard new users to the WAX Ecosystem before the Ocean Defenders NFT sale goes live.
.gems marketplace
We believe that fine arts should have a place on WAX and will continue to introduce established artists to the ecosystem. In order to do so, art curation is key and therefore we’ve launched the .gems marketplace, a place to discover curated art and high-quality collectibles.
The .gems marketplace entered public beta and we will continue to improve and add new features over time.

Live events: .gems' Cryptovoxel NFT Galleries
We continue to promote WAX NFTs on our Metaverse Galleries Events each week. Heidi Taillefer’s Gallery is now live and our VRGB and Hot Sauce Event Venue continues to attract more visits each month. Watch the Hot Sauce After Party Trailer.
Our VR Graffiti Battles were chosen to receive a $PAGE grant by WIP Publishing and invited to join the PAGE DAO, along with other familiar names such as The Cryptowriter, Cipher.media, LADz City, and the Tokensmart Community. The VRGB team is very happy to be part of such a diverse group and proud to represent the WAX ecosystem to the wider crypto space in a collaborative spirit.
We are also actively working with Metaverse Music Fest and offer a stage to showcase Audio NFTs on WAX such as Yoshidrops and Secret Saviours, along with VR Graffiti performances by VRGB artists.
