EOS Hot Sauce is a weekly digest of all the hottest topics from around the EOSIO ecosystem. The space is evolving so rapidly it can be hard to keep up! We keep on top of it so you don’t have to.

EOS Gets Positive Exposure In Crypto Media

EOS has received some positive press recently from major media outlets like Cointelegraph, Coindesk Korean and the Chinese Bihu Community

The climb in token price over the past three months took the market by storm and was reported by Jordan Finneseth of Cointelegraph. The article  analyzed the EOS market value movement in relation to the timeline of events in the EOS ecosystem. Jordan’s conclusion was that three factors influenced the meteoric rise in the price of EOS token: the launch of the new EOS PowerUp model, the launch of the EOSIO Testnet, and Google Cloud integration with EOS.

The EOS PowerUp model is the EOS network’s solution to a better way to manage network resources and provide a friendly and cheap way for users to transact in the network. The EOS PowerUp model gives users the choice of paying a small fee to power up their account for 24 hours with CPU and NET bandwidth that can be used to fulfil transaction needs, or they could deposit their unused tokens to receive a percentage of the power-up fees generated by the EOS public blockchain. This makes transaction fees very affordable. Jordan believes that this model was a major influence on EOS’ subsequent market movements.

Another factor was the EOSIO Testnet, the project that includes features such as a multi-node distributed network, one-click blockchain account creation, an embedded EOSIO explorer and the inclusion of snapshots that enable the quick syncing of EOSIO testnet nodes to ensure high uptime.

The third factor is Google Cloud’s post on April 2 titled Why Google Cloud is the ideal platform for Block.one and other DLT companies. This showcased Google’s involvement in EOS and its partnership with Block.one.

Jordan believes that these events were triggers to the EOS price increase and that there is still room for even higher price levels.

Dan’s Coindesk Interview

Dan Larimer shared his opinion on Bitcoin and DeFi in a recent interview with Coindesk Korea, along with several issues surrounding his relationship with Block.one and the EOS Community as a whole, and some new insights on EdenOS and ClarionOS.

Dan explained that he left Block.one to reconnect with the members of the EOS community that share his vision. While Block.one pursues the more centralized ventures such as Voice, Dan is free to pursue his own vision of a truly decentralized community with EOS.

Dan’s Bihu AMA

Dan Larimer did an AMA with the Chinese community in a Bihu live stream this week, which has attracted over 80,000 views so far. These impressive numbers indicate that the Chinese community is excited about being able to interact directly with Dan, and it also indicates an increase in the enthusiasm for EOS in the West.

EOSCommunity.org Forum

We’re excited to announce that EOS Hot Sauce will be published on the EOS Community Forum, which is fast becoming the one-stop shop for all of the most important EOS content. To commemorate this, it’s fitting we give you a proper introduction to the Forum.

EOSCommunity.org is a forum for the discussion of EOS-based topics and news. It facilitates long and thorough discussions that can be easily referenced later,  which was sorely lacking in Telegram.

Although the discussions on the forum include a wide range of topics, they’re all connected to EOS.

One of the most popular topics is the EOS Governance Draft Proposal. Another popular post is the List of Helpful EOS Links – great for newcomers to the community!

The existence of a forum like this has been long overdue for the EOS Community.  It’s a place where everyone can go to be updated on trending discussions on EOS, and it harnesses the strength of the community.

You can still find the EOS Hot Sauce in all of its existing formats.

DreamBIG, GBK Chestahedrons and CryptoFinney EOS NFTs

Our first EOS drops were a huge success, with the GBK series selling out in hours and DreamBIG selling 58% of the collection so far. There are still packs available, grab some now from Atomic Hub!

Our .gems team has been thrilled to see such positive responses from our community to our first two EOS NFT releases. All of the creatives, from GBK to the 49 artists who submitted designs for DreamBIG, are happy with the outcome and we could not be more proud of the result so far. It was a fantastic way to kick start the EOS NFT scene and since then we’ve seen a steady stream of new art being published on-chain by our artists and others.

The next big NFT release on EOS is the CryptoFinney project whose burn mechanism went live on April 22nd. Burn those coins and earn some Finneys! If you’re lucky, you might find some very rare and unique Finneys! This project is not a .gems release but we’ve been working closely with the team at Cryptowriter to help them promote this amazing collection being released on both WAX & EOS. Upland opens Oakland City and introduces NFT Asset Wallet

The Upland Metaverse is expanding further, and the latest addition to the game is Oakland City. The Oakland release will function similarly to the Brooklyn release. It’s a mid-tier city with about half of the properties available there reserved for newer players via the Fair Starters Act.

To get to Oakland, players would need to take a train there from San Francisco, the same way they have to take a train to Fresno. Oakland’s Lake Merritt Station will contain 10 separate terminals. Read the full release to learn how you can get your hands on one.

BLOCK EXPLORER NFTs

Limited edition block explorers on Upland will be transformed to a kind of Upland Native NFT, as announced by the gaming powerhouse on March 25. This would be the first time Upland is launching an NFT format beyond the property parcel, but definitely not the last, with others like the Structure NFT being scheduled for later.

Limited Edition Explorers will become NFTs on the EOS blockchain, as an adaptation of the dGoods standards. Thus, they can easily be accessed from the incoming Upland Asset Wallet, along with their details like the block story, max supply, and series. The update also comes with a new, limited edition NFT known as the Blockchain Wizard, Block Explorer Shops for buying and trading block explorers, and a customizable new background that promises even more dynamism in time.
